- בּוּךְch. (b. h.; √בו or בה, v. בהי, בהל) to run to and fro, be agitated. Part. בָּיֵיךְ, f. בָּיְיכָא. Gen. R. s. 87, beg. (expl. הומיהוכ׳ Prov. 7:11) בייכא היא וטעיא Ar. (ed. שגשיא; Yalk. Prov. בוכה, corr. acc.) she runs about (revelling) Y.Taan.II, 65b (ref. to Mic. 7:4) (read:) מן גו דא אנן בָּיְיכִין ובכוןוכ׳ therefore we are now in trouble. And they wept Ruth. R. s. 3 (before I, 18) קל ברייתא בייבין (read בייכין) the sound of people runing in excitement (on business).
